Not just at drop-off. All day. Good news, weird news, the stuff that's hard to say. Pip hears it all, and every night, he shares it with the monster babies at their bedtime, so they know how you're getting on. A pencil case with a whisper hole built right in, so there's always someone to tell.
Pip isn't just there for the wobbly moments. He's a little friend from home, there for everything a school day brings.
The idea
It started with a school induction pack.
I was sitting at the kitchen table with the folder our school sent home before junior infants: grey photocopies, a uniform list, a laminated page about lunches. Useful, I suppose. But nothing in it was for the child. Nothing in it said: this might feel big, and that's okay.
My own one had been quiet for a week. Not upset, just carrying something around. And the thing about a five-year-old is that whatever's on their mind rarely comes out when you ask directly. It comes out sideways, to a teddy, at half seven in the morning.
So we made Pip. A small guardian monster who lives in the pencil case, goes into the classroom, and has one job: to listen. Good news, weird news, the hard stuff, all of it. And every night, he tells the monster babies about it at their bedtime, so they know how your child is getting on. Not a lesson. Not a chart on the wall. Just someone to tell.
How it works
Three small moments in a school day
Step 1
Say good morning to Pip
He comes out of your bag and sits right there on your desk, all day. First thing, say hello, or whisper anything that's on your mind.
Step 2
Whisper anytime
Got something to say? A good day, a weird day, anything at all. Lean in and tell Pip, as many times as you need to. He's right there, listening, the whole day through.
Step 3
Tonight, they'll hear about you
Every secret you tell Pip, he shares with the monster babies at their bedtime. Tonight, they'll hear about you.
He's not just tucked away. He's right there with you, all day.
Pip loves hearing everything, the good stuff, the silly stuff, the small stuff. But some things need a grown-up too. If something ever makes you feel scared, hurt, or unsafe, Pip's answer is always the same: tell your grown-up, or your teacher. Pip never asks you to keep a secret. You can just tell him yours.

The case
